What changed

The Panel’s July 1, 2026 report lists 3,940 pending actions, and 4,230 filed in total, in In re: Uber Technologies, Inc., Passenger Sexual Assault Litigation, MDL No. 3084, before Judge Charles R. Breyer in the Northern District of California. Its June 1 report listed 3,571 pending.

The count has kept rising. The October 1, 2026 report lists 4,916 pending and 5,221 filed in total.

What it means

The cases are consolidated for pretrial work, not merged. A passenger who files keeps an individual case, which can be sent back to the court where it was filed if it does not resolve.

California state cases are coordinated separately, in In re Uber Rideshare Cases, JCCP No. 5188, in San Francisco Superior Court.
