What this site is
Sexual Abuse Center tracks the civil litigation arising from sexual abuse in the United States: institutional abuse cases, rideshare and platform cases, and the high-profile individual matters that set the procedural rules everyone else litigates under. It explains what each one means for a person considering a claim.
Three things distinguish it from most of what is published in this space:
- Everything is dated. Docket counts, settlement figures, and case statuses carry the date they were accurate as of, because they change constantly and undated numbers become quietly wrong.
- Every legal page is attorney-reviewed. Not “reviewed by our team,” but reviewed by a named, licensed, verifiable attorney. See Chris Schroeder, Esq.
- We say what is unpleasant. That LA County’s money is moving slowly. That a bankruptcy trust pays a fraction of a claim’s value. That a deposition is difficult. Anyone who only tells you the good parts is selling something.
Who is behind it
The site is operated in association with The Schroeder Firm, a Washington, D.C. litigation firm, at Suite 360, 1750 H Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20006.
Legal content is reviewed by Chris Schroeder, Esq., who has practiced civil litigation for over twenty years and holds active licenses in Florida (Bar #520381, issued 2001) and the District of Columbia (issued 2013). His bar registrations are independently verifiable and we link directly to them on his profile page.
Research, writing, and case tracking are done by our editorial team, working from primary sources: court dockets, settlement administrator notices, bankruptcy filings, state attorney general announcements, and statutory text.
How this is funded, stated plainly
We are not a charity, a government agency, or a news organization. The site exists in part so that people with viable claims find representation, and cases may be referred to or co-counseled with other firms. You should read everything here with that in mind, which is exactly why we source claims to primary documents you can check yourself rather than asking you to take our word for anything.
Nothing on this site costs anything. Submitting a form does not create an attorney–client relationship and does not obligate you to anything. If you would rather use the information and go to a different firm entirely, that is a perfectly good outcome.
What we will not do
- Predict what your case is worth. Nobody can do that from a web page, and anyone who does is guessing at your expense.
- Publish fake testimonials or invented case results. There are none on this site.
- Describe an untried allegation as a fact. Civil allegations are labeled as allegations throughout, and people are presumed innocent of criminal charges unless convicted.
- Pressure you toward filing. The pages on support exist because a great many people who reach this site should be calling a hotline, not a lawyer.
- Publish undated figures. If we cannot date it, we do not print it.

If someone else has access to your device, open this site in a private or incognito browsing window, which leaves no history at all. On a device you believe is being monitored, use a different device entirely: a library computer or a friend's phone is safer than any setting on a compromised one.
